Pedestrian deaths spiked in 2016 likely due to drivers and walkers distracted by electronic devices

Florida ranks 2nd in pedestrian fatalities. Distracted driving and distracted walking are factors affecting the rise in pedestrian fatalities: drivers and pedestrian’s use of cell phones increases the risk of pedestrian fatalities. The same is true for alcohol use.

Don’t drink and drive or drink and walk on the side of the road. Wait until you are stopped or sitting to use your cell phone. It may save your life.
