Dr. Ann Hutchinson selected as 2011 Crary Buchanan Primary Care Physician of the Year

Primary care physicians are the backbone of our health care system, taking care of the entire family through illnesses and injuries throughout their lives. They are often unsung heroes, doing their work quietly at all hours of the day, night and weekend.

To honor them, The Crary Buchanan Law Firm initiated The Crary Buchanan Primary Care Physician of the Year Award, given to a physician in family practice or internal medicine during Martin Memorial’s annual Doctors’ Day celebration.

This year’s honoree is Dr. Ann Hutchinson. Dr. Hutchinson has been in practice on the Treasure Coast for 23 years. During that time, she has cared for thousands of patients, raised three children, served on committees at Martin Memorial Health Systems, and supported the activities of Volunteers in Medicine Clinic.

Her patients nominated her because, they said, she cares for their total well-being and is always ready to do whatever it takes to get them the medical assistance they need. To them, Dr. Hutchinson is “like the doctor on the cover of the old Saturday Evening Post magazine, one of us and always there for us.”

Last year the award was presented to Dr. Paul Gaeta.

Dr. Hutchinson received the award from Mike Crary managing partner of Crary Buchanan. In her honor, The Crary Buchanan Law Firm is making a gift of $2,500 to Volunteers in Medicine Clinic.
