Beware Unofficial Websites or Communications by Mail
Starting a new company can be very exciting. Unfortunately, there are scammers out there just waiting to prey on that excitement. Very often after someone creates a new corporate entity, they will receive notices claiming to offer certified copies of their corporate filing or annual corporate minutes forms. These solicitations are drafted to look like they come from a governmental agency or office, and imply that you need to purchase their services or suggested forms to complete your company’s filing. Please note these letters or emails are scams.
The Division of Corporation’s website contains a warning of such: https://dos.myflorida.com/sunbiz/about-us/consumer-notices/beware-unofficial-websites-or-communications-by-mail/. The attorneys at Crary Buchanan can assist with your corporate questions and filings.
