Our History
In 1927, when Martin County was only two years old, Evans Crary Sr. began
his law practice in Stuart. At the age of 25, he became a municipal judge.
Later, he served as County Attorney for 32 years.
In 1936, he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives, where he
served until 1945. During his last year in the House, he served as Speaker.
He then became a member of the Florida Senate, where he served until 1953.
While vigorously representing his constituents in Tallahassee and his
clients in Stuart, Evans Crary Sr. was extremely active in his community. He
served as President of the Martin County Bar Association, President of the
Stuart Chamber of Commerce, and was charter member of the Stuart Rotary
Club.
Evans Crary Sr. was widely admired for his integrity, professionalism,
energy, and devotion to the community. The current members of the law firm
he founded continue to embrace the standards he set and are committed to
continuing his tradition of service.
